  • Chapter I General Provisions

    • Article 1 (Purpose)

      The purpose of these regulations is to define the rules and guidelines required for the effective operation and maintenance of Gyeongbuk Global Exchange Center (“the Dormitory”) in an orderly manner.

    • Article 2 (Title)

      These regulations are called Rules and Regulations of Gyeongbuk Global Exchange Center (“Rules and Regulations”).

    • Article 3 (Effects)

      These Rules and Regulations apply to all residents of the Dormitory and all residents should abide by them.

  • Chapter 2 Opening and Closing

    • Article 4 (Opening Period)
      • The time and period of opening of the Dormitory are decided by President of GGEC
    • Article 5 (Closing and Taking out Personal Items)
      • All residents should take out their personal items from their rooms before the Dormitory is closed and cannot stay in the Dormitory during the closing period.
  • Chapter 3 Move-in and move-out

    • Article 6 (Move-in)
      • ① Students can check in only within the check-in period.
      • ② However, the GGEC authorities may allow students check in after the deadline, taking into consideration of the individual reasons such as unavoidable matters in their countries, schools or transportation.
      • ③ Students who have not moved in until the end of move-in period may not be allowed move-in. A resident who has been evicted shall vacate the premises by no later than 1 week upon notice of eviction.
      • ④ Move-in will not be allowed, if an applicant
        1. Has not submitted a recommendation letter from his/her school or the general application form;
        2. Has not submitted either the registration form or health certificate;
        3. Is a carrier or a patient of an infectious disease;
        4. Has a previous record of disqualification from applying within 1 year from the application date; or
        5. Has been considered to be disqualified by the Dean of GGEC.
      • ⑤ Those who do not submit evidence related to joining the company or do not match will be disqualified from joining the company after the confirmation of joining the company, and disciplinary resignation will be applied on the date of notification of cancellation of joining the company.
    • Article 7 (Move-out)
      • ① Residents who want to move out must submit the move-out sheet at least 7 days before the move-out.
      • ② In case a resident cancels the housing after payment without submitting the move-out sheet in advance, he/she will be refunded the housing fee after deducting an amount of 7-day housing fee from the date of move-out.
      • ③ The check-out procedure will complete after he/she empties the room and returns received items and housing staff or a teaching assistant inspects the room.
      • ④ Dean of GGEC may terminate the occupancy of a resident if he/she
        1. Is a carrier or a patient of an infectious disease;
        2. Has failed to submit a recommendation letter from his/her school; however, it does not affect residents who entered the housing in a normal way; or
        3. Has an accumulation of 10 or more demerits.
      • ⑤ A resident who has been evicted as disciplinary action or the termination of the occupancy is made by his or her request during the terms of occupancy or without necessary notice by the resident shall vacate the premises by no later than 1 week upon notice of eviction and will be refunded in accordance with Article 19.
    • Article 8 (Allocation of personnel)
      • ① It complies with Articles 22 and 24 of the Implementation Agreement, and Articles 18 and 19 of the Operational Regulations.However, if vacancies occur due to the low admission rate of foreign students, some domestic students and faculty members of the participating universities may be selected, and underprivileged students shall be selected first.
      • ② In principle, the placement of the drawing room shall be random, but the drawing room shall be allocated in consideration of the characteristics of each country or religious and cultural characteristics.
      • ③ The assigned drawing room cannot be arbitrarily changed between the drawing groups.
  • Chapter 4 Dormitory Life

    • Article 9 (Rules) All residents must
      • ① Try to keep and maintain sound and undisturbed living environment.
      • ② Try to keep the Dormitory and rooms clean and neat.
      • ③ Not conduct actions or behavior that may disturb or cause inconvenience to other residents and actively follow introductions or requests from housing staff or a person entrusted by housing staff.
      • ④ Use the public facilities in a clean and careful manner and inform the Administration Office of any breakage or loss.
      • ⑤ Follow introductions or requests from housing staff or a person entrusted by housing staff if the possession or use of disallowed items (such as an electric heating device or flammable item) is discovered.
      • ⑥ Abide by all rules, regulations and guidelines established by Dean of GGEC based on social common idea and for the sake of educational purposes.
    • Article 10 (Prevention of Accident or Loss)
      • ① All residents must use the designated entrances at all times to prevent the occurrence of an accident or loss. No outsiders will be allowed entering the rooms without prior permission.
      • ② the Dormitory will not be liable for any accident or loss of personal items.
    • Article 11 (Facility Management)
      • ① House-keeping personnel can enter the rooms for the purpose of the inspection, repair or maintenance of facilities after obtaining the consent from their residents in advance or the Administration Office for an urgent repair if the resident is not available.
      • ② Residents must use the public facilities carefully and will be required to compensate for damage or loss of property caused by him or her.
      • ③ Residents must keep the room temperature in accordance with the seasonal indoor temperature recommended by the government.
  • Chapter 5 Regulations

    • Article 12 (Roll Call and Facility Inspection)
      • ① Housing staff or superintendent can perform a roll call or facility inspection after obtaining approval from Dean.
      • ② Roll call or facility inspection will be conducted after prior notice in principle; however it can be performed without prior notice if necessary.
      • ③ Residents are encouraged to attend a roll call. If he or she cannot attend a roll call due to unavoidable reason including class, examination or part-time job, he or she has to inform the Administration Office of the reason in writing.
    • Article 13 (Sleep-over)
      • ① A resident who intends to sleep out during weekend shall submit the sleeping out sheet before the closing time.
      • ② A weekend sleep-over shall be from Friday to the closing of Monday.
      • ③ A holiday sleep-over shall be from the day before a legal holiday to the closing time the next day of the holiday.
      • ④ A resident who intends to sleep out during weekdays shall submit the sleeping out sheet with a reasonable reason before 23:00.
    • Article 14 (Closing time)
      • ① Residents shall use a registered-entrance card when entering the premises.
      • ② Residents shall return to the Dormitory by no later than 12:00 pm and will not be allowed to enter after the closing time.
      • ③ Residents who intend to enter or leave the premises during the closing time shall provide a fairly reasonable reason and obtain approval from the night shift manager.
  • Chapter 6 Reward and Penalty Points

    • Article 15 (Reward points)
      • ① Dean of GGEC may give reward points to residents who are considered to have been well-behaved or displayed exemplary conduct. For details, refer to "【Appendix 1】.
    • Article 16 (Penalty points)
      • ① Dean of GGEC may impose penalty points on residents who have violated the regulations of GGEC in accordance with 【Appendix 2】.
      • ② Imposed points can be reduced only by reward points and will not be cleared as long as he or she stays in the Dormitory as a resident.
    • Article 17 (Disciplinary Action)
      • A resident who has been given penalty points shall be punished as presented below;
        1. A written warning
          Will be given to a resident who has been given an accumulation of 6 or more penalty points
        2. Termination of occupancy
          A resident who has been evicted shall vacate the premises by no later than 1 week upon notice of eviction and will not be refunded the housing fees including the deposit except the board.
        3. Restriction of future re-entry
          A resident who has been evicted shall be restricted in re-entry for 1 year.
  • Chapter 7 Housing fees

    • Article 18 (Housing fees)
      • ① The housing fees include utility bills and management expenses which are determined in accordance with Article 25 of GGEC Establishment Project Agreement. However, the utility bills may be charged separately based on actual usage if the total expenses exceed the amount set in the current year’s budget.
      • ② Residents may make the payment of the housing fees in a lump sum or in installments.
      • ③ The full amount of the deposit will be refunded when residents move out if the room facility or items is not damaged.
    • Article 19 (Refund)
      • ① Residents shall be refunded the housing fees after deducting 15% from the amount computed by multiplying the number of remaining days by the daily rental rate (as the cancellation charge). In addition, no refund will be made if the number of remaining days is 15 or less. However, in case of a cancellation incurred due to a reason accepted by the university authorities including an infectious disease and nursing an immediate family member, no cancellation charge will be deducted.
      • ② Since residents have to use the dormitory restaurant of Yeungnam University, the refund of the board will be made in accordance with the dormitory’s rules.
      • ③ No housing fees but only the deposit will be refunded if the number of remaining days is 15 or less.
      • ④ No housing fees and deposit will be refunded if the termination of occupation is made as disciplinary action or without necessary notice by the resident.
  • Chapter 8 Official Events and Posting

    • Article 20 (Official events)
      • ① Residents are advised to participate in an official event of the Dormitory.
      • ② An official event can be held after obtaining the consent of Dean and necessary expenses can be charged.
      • ③ In case of an official event, the preparation body shall submit to the Administration Office a plan and schedule at least 7 days before the event and holds it within the scope of the plan.
    • Article 21 (Posting)
      • Posting a notice inside the premises shall be done after obtaining approval from the Administrative Director.
  • Chapter 9 Miscellaneous

    • Article 22 (Miscellaneous)
      • Where there is an objection to matters not specified in this Rule or to the interpretation of this Rule, the "dormitory" and the "employment student" shall agree and decide, but matters not agreed shall be governed by the relevant statutes and general customs.(Partial Amendment '22.11.23)
  • Supplementary provision

    • These Rules and Regulations shall be effective on August 6, 2014.
    • These Rules and Regulations shall be effective on November 1, 2015.
    • These Rules and Regulations shall be effective on November 15, 2022.
    • These Rules and Regulations shall be effective on November 23, 2022.
